MISSION STATEMENT: To improve educational opportunities for chicago's inner city youth, through effective after school, motivational and public speaking programs.
The Gale Sayers Center features the following programs:
COMPUTER CLASSROOMS
Modern computer classrooms offering workstations to create an optimal learning environment. Instructors will encourage students through positive reinforcement and one on one computer training. Instructors will be hand picked student-interns from major Midwest universities such as Northwestern, Notre Dame, Purdue and Illinois.
PUBLIC SPEAKING PROGRAM
Personally developed by Gale Sayers, the Public Speaking Program will formally introduce students at a young age to the art of public speaking. From banquet speeches to eulogies, students will learn how to project their voices and craft a public message. This experience will undoubtdebly give these children the confidence necessary to succeed in todays competitive environment.
MENTORING & MOTIVATION PROGRAM
The Gale Sayers Center will host a regularly scheduled mentoring & motivation program, recruiting some of the finest business, civic and sports leaders to speak with the children. The program's goal is to inspire and motivate these children to great achivements. At this age children are most receptive to hearing, accepting and acting on positive examples from our role models. We hope that these mentors will inspire our young minds to achieve great personal and professional success.
